Steven G. Richard Sr.

Steven G. Richard Sr., 63 of Elkhorn, WI, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Mercy Janesville Hospital. He was born February 16, 1963 in Streator, IL, the son of the late Edna Richard. Steve worked as the custodian for the Elkhorn Post Office for 27 years. He was deeply committed to serving others and dedicated much of his life to his community through his roles with the Elkhorn Post Office, Walworth County Fair, Elkhorn Fire Department, Elkhorn Police Department and Lake Geneva Police Department. His commitment to service extended beyond his community , he also served his country with honor and pride as a United States Marine. Steve enjoyed working security at the Walworth County Fair and directing traffic for the Elkhorn School Districts. He was a hard worker and always had to stay busy. Steve was united in marriage to Tina Borkowski on November 30, 2012. They loved to sit outside the garage and relax together. Steve always looked out for those around him, more than himself. Steve was a father figure to so many who were not even his kids and a friend to all. Steve always had a smile.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Tina Richard, his four children. Robert (Allie), Curtis, Bradley, and Steven Jr. (Amanda) Richard, five grandchildren, Caden, Nadia, Roman, Skye, and Harrison, thirteen siblings, many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna.

Funeral Service will be 11:00AM on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes, 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI. Visitation will be 9:00AM until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow services at 1:00PM at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
