Obituary

Susan passed away peacefully at home with her husband, Jonah as her primary Care Giver by her side, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born in Racine, Wisconsin and raised in Genoa City, Wisconsin. Her passing was preceded by her parents, June and George Schuette, and her brother, George Schuette, Jr. Her mother was struck down by the same brain cancer type. Susan is survived by her husband, Jonah Fuller, adopted sisters Karen Walker, Sharon Engstrom, Collen Mayors, adopted brother Jay Hopkins, and other Hill family members and great friends.

Susan graduated from Lake Geneva Badger High School in 1971, and moved to Madison, Wisconsin. In Madison, Susan met and married Jonah on May 20th, 1980. She worked at St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center's business office in Madison, WI, and a nursing home in Milwaukee, WI. Moving to California, Susan retired as an accountant after working for Miller-Freeman Publishing, a San Francisco, CA based book and magazine publishing firm. She attended San Francisco Golden Gate University in San Francisco, CA.

She had traveled in Europe, Mexico and throughout California and Oregon. During her last 7 years she rarely socialized due to her physical health condition. Although Susan's health slowed her down, she remained a joyfully spirited, quick witted, and mentally sharp Lady to the end. Susan was extremely well liked by her family members, and friends she acquired over the years.  She was a loving person, sensitive, generous with her time, and her counsel with people. One admiring trait of Susan was her honesty demonstrated by her life's philosophy of "If you don't want to know don't ask". Susan enjoyed traveling, cooking, doing charity work by creating and donating baby blankets, needle point, collecting and reading mystery books, and spending time with her husband, cats and friends. She left behind a large collection of cat figurines, and a host of framed and unframed cross-stitch works of art.

She and her husband, Jonah, had a blessed 35 years of marriage together. She was an extraordinary wife, a great friend and wonderful companion. Susan was an inspiration, a rock, and true eternal love who is missed daily.

Susan had two important wishes before she passed away. She desired to be cremated and laid to rest with her parents at the Hillside Cemetery, in Genoa City, Wisconsin.  The Haase-Lockwood and Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Genoa City, Wisconsin is managing Susan's internment arrangements on behalf of her husband. She did not wish to have any memorial services held on her behalf feeling she had lived a full life.

Should you wish to remember Susan, you can do so with a small donation to your local ASPCA group in her name, or a donation to the Hospice of the East Bay if you live in Contra Costa County, California.
