Thomas "Tom" Neil Fountaine, 72 of Elkhorn, WI, formerly Wheeling, IL, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, WI.  He was born July 8, 1944 in Evanston, IL, the son of the late Vernon and Patrana (Minchef) Fountaine.   Tom was united in marriage to Elizabeth "Bets" Rivett on March 3, 1973 in North Brook, IL.  He served as a firefighter for the Wheeling Fire Department for 30 years. Tom served part time on the Wauconda Fire Department for 10 years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and camping.  Tom and Bets spent many years in Eagle River and surrounding area.  Tom was loving and happy husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Bets Fountaine, their son, Michael (Sharon) Fountaine, his three children; Cheryl (Sean) Kemph, Lori (Terri) Counerty and Tad (Traci) Fountaine, two step-children, Steven (Liz) Gasparac and Jacalyn Counerty, fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, sister, Nancy (Byron) VanMeter, brother, Jim (Jane) Fountaine and one nephew, Michael VanMeter,  He was preceded in death by his parents, step son, William Gasparac, many aunts and uncles.

Celebration of Tom's life will be 1:00PM on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Fountaine Residence, N6110 Spruce Dr. Elkhorn, WI 53121.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for expenses.
