Obituary

Virginia Lorraine (nee Mauch) Heggie, age 91 of Elkhorn, WI, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2017 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center.  She was born the daughter of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Jaeger) Mauch.  Virginia was raised in Milwaukee and married Gayle Heggie on March 16, 1946. He preceded her in death in November 1, 2008.  They started their married life living in Milwaukee then moving to Jefferson and Elkhorn.  Virginia was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Elkhorn and a founding member of the Elkhorn Garden Club. Virginia was a friend to many and she was so proud to be living independently in her own home.

She was the loving mother of four children Lynda Adas, Neal (Candace) Heggie, Claudia (Randy) Schroedl, Mary (Tom) Erie; proud grandma of Matt (Sarah) Adas, Rachel (Eric Scott) Adas, Melissa (John) Voigt, Brian (Karen Reisel) Heggie, Andrew (Maria) Schroedl, Elizabeth (Paul Johnson)  Schroedl, Mitchell Erie and 10 great grandchildren.  Further survived by niece Jeannie (Charlie) Huenemann and children Hanna and Ben, nephew Joe (Chris) Mauch, and sister-in-law Deanne Mauch.  Preceded in death by her brother Gerry Mauch.

Funeral services will be 10:30AM on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 415 Devendorf St. Elkhorn, WI, with Pastor David Rau officiating. Visitation will be 9:00AM until service time Tuesday at the church.  Interment will be 2:00PM at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, WI.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to EAA Chapter 60 for Gayle Heggie Avaiation Scholarship Fund, c/o Ed Titcomb 5655 Gray Eagle Rd, Roscoe, IL 61073 or Matheson Memorial Library, 101 N. We are grateful to the people who watched out for her, especially Julie, Karen, and Margot. We are comforted by a special message she left us, "I want smiles not tears.  You have all made my life complete, now go forward and live your life in a way that would make me proud."
