Wayne R. Kimmell age 76 of Williams Bay, WI and formerly of Twin Lakes, WI died Friday evening January 16, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
Wayne Robert Kimmell was born on July 8, 1938 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Harold and Marie Pirringer Kimmell. In 1965, Wayne was united in marriage to Pat Homich. She preceded him in death in 1984. On August 16, 1986 in Waukegan, IL, Wayne was united in marriage to Sharron Linne. They moved to Twin Lakes in 1990 and then to Williams Bay in 2014.
Wayne served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force serving in Vietnam from August 5, 1960 until discharge on June 17, 1966. He was a pilot of a tactical fighter plane. He earned the Vietnam Service Medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Longevity Service Award. He formerly worked as a buyer for Sears. He was a Franchisee for Burger King in Paddock Lake and Kenosha.
Wayne was a former member of the Twin Lakes Board of Review, a member of the Twin Lakes Area Chamber and Businessmen's Assoc. the Elks Club in Kenosha, the Kenosha Recognition Assoc. and a former Commissioner for the Kenosha Airport. He enjoyed model railroading and reading about trains.
Wayne is survived by: His wife-Sharron; 1 daughter-Michelle (Kurt) Oddsen of Chanhassen, MN; 3 sons-Wayne "Rob" (Leah) Kimmell of Monona, WI, Michael Linne of Cenntenial, CO and Chad Kimmell of Downers Grove, IL; 5 grandchildren-Alex, Ben and Drew Kimmell, CJ Oddsen and Sarah Decaro; 2 sisters-Pam (Fred) Lotarski of Plainfield, IL and Kim (Bob) Robson of Waynesboro, VA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday January 21, 2015 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home and Crematory. The Kimmell Family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Memorial Remembrances may be made to the Williams Bay Rescue Squad, 5 E.
