William "Bill" Charles Holtz

William “Bill” C. Holtz age 85 of Elkhorn died at home on Tuesday August 18, 2026. Bill was born in Elgin, IL on August 21, 1940; son of the late William A. and Helen M. (Dammyer) Holtz. Bill was a proud and hard-working dairy farmer, raising and tending to his own heard of dairy cows for many years at his home farm. As he got older, he sold off his heard and continued to work for the neighboring farm. Bill was a gentle and humble man and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was very involved in his church, and a regular participant in the weekly Bible studies at church. Bill was a member of the Walworth County Farm Bureau, an FFA Alumni, and a member of the Walworth County Holstein Association.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by a number of cousins, and a long list of close friends.

A Funeral for Bill will take place at First Evangelical Lutheran Church 415 Devendorf Street Elkhorn, WI on Wednesday August 26, 2026, at 11:00AM. Visitation will take place before the funeral beginning at 9:30AM. Bill will be laid to rest at McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock, IL later that day. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bills name may be made to First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
