Alan Charles Kautz, age 78 of Burlington, WI, died Sunday, February 21, 2021. Son of the late Robert and Leah (Davis) Kautz, Alan was born May 3, 1942 in Elkhorn, WI. He grew up in Spring Grove, IL on his parents’ farm, attending Spring Grove Grade School and later Richmond Burton High School. Alan was united in marriage to Patricia Welch on September 22, 1962 at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Slades Corners. During his life he was a self-employed carpenter, and also worked for Repco Woodstock Die-Casting and Stevens Construction. Alan and Patricia were hard workers who raised sheep for 37 years on their farm. Alan also realized his dream of having llamas on his farm. In his free time, Alan enjoyed fishing as well as working on, driving, and racing his stock car (#16) in the 1960’s and 1970’s in both Wilmot and Lake Geneva. Alan had his beloved stock car for over 30 years, and even drove it as recently as two years ago.
Alan is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pat, his daughter Connie (Jim) Stewart, and his grandchildren Natalie Kautz and Sean Stewart. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Robert (Laura Wierzbicki), and his siblings Harold Kautz, Linda Kautz, and Margory Oxtoby.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Twin Lakes, 620 Legion Dr., Twin Lakes, WI 53181 on Saturday, February 27, 2021 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks must be worn in the building unless a medical condition prevents you from doing so. While all are welcome to attend, we ask that you are mindful of time spent in the building so that all mourners are able to offer their sympathies to the family. In lieu of flowers, Alan’s family has requested memorial donations be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Slades Corners, 39506 60th St, Burlington, WI 53105.
