Anthony Mitchell Obituary

Anthony S. Mitchell, age 97 of Elkhorn, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Ridgestone Terrace in Elkhorn.  He was born April 2, 1921 in Gowen, Oklahoma, the son of the late Benjamin and Mary (Gornik) Mieczkowski.  Anthony was united in marriage to Elizabeth Hugo.  He served in United States Army during WWII. Anthony worked in management for Bally slot and pin ball manufacturing.  Anthony was a country boy.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and bird watching. Anthony was also a horse shoe champion.

Anthony is survived by his loving niece, Barbara (Jack) Steck, step-grandchildren: Mike and Mark Fugiel, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews and dear friends at Ridgestone Terrace. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, step-daughter, Margie, eight siblings, Pauline Koza, Rose Faust, Joseph, Ben Jr., John, Stanley, Michael and Ann Mieczkowski, three nephews, and beloved partner of many years, Gloria Steele.

Memorial Mass will be 10:30 AM on Friday, June 8, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 107 W Walworth St. Elkhorn, WI, with Fr. Jose Zapata officiating.  Visitation will be 10:00 AM until service time Friday at Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars, 16 S Broad St. Elkhorn, WI 53121.
