Arthur B. Ellis

Arthur Benjamin Ellis Jr., age 83 of Galesville, WI, died Thursday, April 22, 2021. Son of the late Arthur and Bernice (Harnisch) Ellis Sr., Arthur was born on January 30, 1938, in LaCrosse. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He was united in marriage with LaVerne Elliott on May 31, 1960, with whom he raised six children. During his life he worked in manufacturing and security. Arthur was a family man with a great sense of humor who enjoyed fishing, gardening, and trips to the casino to play the slot machines. He had a soft spot for animals, caring for numerous pets over the years, and even raising orphaned goslings. Arthur also took pleasure in watching birds and other wildlife in his yard.

Arthur is survived by his children, Karl Ellis, Renee Procknow, Rita Chiariello, Amy (Robert) Little, Carrie (William) Doyle, and daughter-in-law Paula Ellis; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVerne; his son, Kevin Ellis; and his son-in-law, Dennis Procknow.

A memorial service with military honors will be held on April 29, 2021 at 3:00PM at the Southern Wisconsin Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Twin Lakes, WI is assisting the family.
