Barbara Kay Schuren

Barbara K. Schuren, age 75, of Genoa City, WI, passed away Saturday evening, September 1, 2018 at the Bay of Burlington in Burlington, WI.

The former Barbara Kay McKenny was born on January 4, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late James Arthur and Lorraine O’Dell McKenny.  Barbara attended Lake Forest College for 4 years.  Barbara was united in marriage to Charles B. Schuren on April 23, 1988 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Genoa City, WI.

Barbara was a homemaker and an active member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Twin Lakes and the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Genoa City.  Barbara was active in church functions, working dinners and cooking or baking for them.  She also was very involved in the Genoa City Garden Club serving in many capacities.  She also was very active in organizing Genoa City Lions Days and helping with Lions functions for many years.  Barbara was very active in community activities and volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels for many years. 

Barbara is survived by:  Her husband, Charles “Chuck” Schuren; 1 son, Peter (Susan) Hoffman of Chantilly, VA; step daughter, Heidi Crow of Genoa City, WI; 7 grandchildren, Peter, Jr., Andrew, Nicholas, Bryce, Kara, Jonathan and Holly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM Friday, Sept. 7, 2018 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 701 N. Lake Ave. Twin Lakes, WI.  Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.  The Schuren Family will receive friends from 4:00PM to 8:00PM Thursday at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc.
