Bente K. (Svendsen) Spencer

Bente Kristen Spencer, age 62, of Genoa City, WI, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Daughter of Frank and Oddveig (Engeskaug) Svendsen, Bente was born on November 1, 1961, in Norway. After moving from Norway, Bente and her family settled in Schaumburg, IL. On October 2, 1993, she was united in marriage with Christopher J. Spencer in Schaumburg. 

As a mother, Bente was the heart of her family. Her nurturing spirit and unconditional love created a warm and welcoming home where laughter and love flowed freely. She embraced the joys and challenges of parenthood with grace, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her three children. 

Known as “Mimi,” Bente found immense joy and fulfillment in her role as a grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandkids and watching them grow and thrive. 

Bente is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Chris Spencer; children, Rachel (Tomas) Pecha, Daniel (Madisyn) Spencer, and Mitchell Spencer; grandchildren, Theodore Spencer-Pecha, Charlotte Pecha, Ireland Pecha, and Easton Spencer; sister, Anne (Greg) Schneider; her parents, Frank and Oddveig Svendsen; and best friends Kim (Eric) Schneider and Maria (Lenny) Lamberty. 

A private memorial service for the family will be held. All are welcome to a memorial visitation on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 12:00PM until 3:00PM at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home, 113 Freeman St., Genoa City, WI. Haase-Lockwood & Associates is honored to serve the Spencer family.
