Carl L. Walde Jr., 86 of Elkhorn, WI, passed away on Sunday April 23, 2023 at Vintage on the Ponds in Delavan. He was born September 18, 1936 in Fall Creek, WI, the son of late Ethelyn (Zank) and Oliver Davis. Carl graduated from Alden-Hebron High School with the Class of 1954. He was united in marriage to Evelyn D. Harvey on November 5, 1966 in Harvard, IL. Carl worked for the family business, O.C. Davis & Son Implement, selling and repairing farm machinery in Hebron, IL. He enjoyed spending time outdoors whether he was tending to his flower and berry gardens, hunting, and fishing. Carl also enjoyed woodworking and building a model train city in his home. He was known for his homemade ice cream and apple cider. Carl was a loving a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Evelyn, their two daughters; Melody (Donald) Friedewald and Laurie Mohr, son-in-law, James Bennett, four grandchildren: Rachel (Michael) Trenkle, Amy (Tyler) Reynolds, James (Kelly) Ligman and Natasha Ligman, ten great-grandchildren: Mariah, Amelia, Jaxson, Lyla, Emma, Athenna, Rose, Kai, Zoey, Eli, and God son, Mark (Tina) Kolls and many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethelyn and Oliver Davis, his daughter, Pamela Bennett and son-in-law, Blaine Mohr.
Visitation will be 9:00AM to 11:00AM on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 St. John’s Lutheran Church, 104 S. Broad Street Elkhorn, WI, with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00AM with Pastor Tom DeGroot officiating. Private Family Interment will be at McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church and Lakeland Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 1000 Elkhorn, WI. Online guest book at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
