Cherie Locascio Obituary

Cherie A Locascio, 56, of Powers Lake, WI (formerly a long-time resident of DuPage County, IL) passed away at her home on Thursday, November 30, 2023, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on March 15, 1967, in Chicago, IL to the late parents Vivian and Jerome Locascio.  Cherie grew up in Lombard IL and graduated from Glenbard East. She started her career in cosmetology, spent many years after that as a postal worker and later found her passion in the insurance industry, where she obtained her license and spent over a decade in the industry.

In recent years, Cherie found a greater purpose volunteering across multiple organizations.  She was an avid animal lover and dog mom who enjoyed volunteering at the local animal shelter. In addition, Cherie was recently delivering Meals on Wheels to the homebound for the Kenosha Area Family and Aging Services Inc. Her faith was further strengthened by finding her Christian family within the Mt. Zion faith community. She was blessed to have met many wonderful people who supported her healing journey through prayer and community service. She found a new purpose and mission in sharing God’s word to others.

Cherie loved the outdoors and found every opportunity, no matter the weather, to reunite with nature by taking daily walks, which included walks to the lake, riding her bike and hiking to the local conservation parks. She also enjoyed reading, yoga, meditation, and daily prayer.

Cherie was a loving sister to Michelle (Dean) Griffin and Anthony (Danielle) Locascio, a cherished auntie to Deena, Dylan and Mason Griffin, Arianna and Savannah Locascio and a friend to many. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday December 9, 2023, at Mt. Zion Church, 2330 WI-120 Lake Geneva, WI. 53147.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, followed by a service in the church and then light refreshments.
