David E. Haler, 40 of Ingleside, IL and Elkhorn, WI went home to his Lord on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. He was born April 1, 1981 in DeKalb, IL the son of Lawrence and Lorraine (Sullivan) Haler. David joined and served in the US Army after the attack on “9-11”. David worked as a server for several restaurants including Chili’s in Round Lake, IL, Bimbo’s of McHenry, IL and Charcoal Grill, Burlington, WI. He was a volunteer firefighter with Hinckley Fire Department; he also volunteered with the Big Cat Sanctuary. He was a lover of people and an advocate of others; he loved children and they loved him. David will be deeply missed by his parents: Lori (Les) Vincent, Larry (Linda) Haler, his siblings: Scott (Leia) Haler and Denise (Chris) McWilliams, his numerous co-workers who thought of David as their "dad", nieces and nephews: Emylee, Riley, Conner, Charlee and Jackson. He is further survived by numerous aunts and uncles and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and aunt Colleen Sullivan.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home, 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn, WI with Rev. Gary Thompson officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Hazel Ridge Cemetery, Elkhorn, WI. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 12:00 pm (noon) until the time of service.
