Dawn M. Nellessen, age 58, of Twin Lakes, WI, died Saturday April 30, 2016 at the Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI.

The former Dawn Marie Campbell was born on March 23, 1958 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Donald Lloyd and Jeannette Mary Nielsen Campbell.  On October 1, 1993 in Woodstock, IL, Dawn was united in marriage to Michael Peter Nellessen.  Dawn lived in Reno, NV and McHenry, IL before moving to Twin Lakes 23 years ago.

Dawn formerly worked as an operating room technician in Reno, NV.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed doing crafts.  She also enjoyed quilting, dolls, hiking, biking and anything to do with the outdoors.  She loved dogs and was an avid CUBS Fan.  Dawn was a sweetheart and free spirit and anyone that knew her, loved her.  She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Twin Lakes and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg.

Dawn is survived by: Her husband-Michael; her mother-Jeannette Campbell of McHenry, IL; 4 stepchildren-Michael Nellessen of Genoa City, WI, Kimberly (Quinton) Britton of Marengo, IL, Sandra (Rebecca Amarantes) Nellessen of Arlington, TX and Matthew (Nicole) Nellessen of Friendship, WI; 6 grandchildren-Dylan and Tyler Aranda, Quinton and Isabella Britton, Jack Nellessen and Kaiden Amarantes. 2 brothers-Donald Campbell of Denver, CO and Douglas (Lori) Campbell of Ingleside, IL; Uncle and Godfather-Charlie (Carel) Nielsen of Reno, NV; Niece and nephews-Kimberly Campbell, Kristine Campbell, Tylor Campbell and Justin Campbell.

Dawn was preceded in death by her father-Donald Lloyd Campbell and an uncle-Roger H. Nielsen.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30AM Thursday May 5, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2302 Church St. Johnsburg, IL.  Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery.   The Nellessen family will receive friends from 3:00PM to 8:00PM Wednesday at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home, 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI and from 10:00AM until the time of Mass on Thursday at the Church.  Memorial remembrances may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or Masses would be appreciated.  For online guestbook: haaselockwoodfhs.com.
