Donald F. Wick, 89 of Elkhorn, WI, died Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center. He was born August 27, 1931 in Washburn, WI, the son of the late Elmer and Margaret (Finn) Wick. Don served in the United State Army, seeing active duty in the Korea. He was united in marriage to Joy Ann Henderson on June 3, 1961 in Elkhorn, WI. When Joy Ann turned ill in 1976, he faithfully cared for her until her passing on June 16, 2006 after 45 years of marriage. Don worked in the Elkhorn School District as a Social Studies Teacher for 7th and 8th grade for over 40 years, retiring in 2002. Don was an Elkhorn sports enthusiast that attended basketball games for many years. He was an avid Sheepshead player who enjoyed his several playing groups. What he cherished most was time spent with family and friends.
Don is survived by his two children; Paul (Holly) Wick of Cottage Grove, MN and John (Wendy) Wick of East Troy, WI, three grandchildren; Jordyn (David) Shaw, Evan (Katelyn Stelzer) Wick and Valerie Wick, and one great-grandchild, Fiona Rose Shaw. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy, his brother, Lawrence “Larry” Wick and his sister, Janice Shovick.
