Edward "Ed" Butler Payson Jr.

Edward “Ed” B. Payson Jr., 90 of Elkhorn, WI, died Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center.  He was born April 11, 1930 in Spooner, WI, the son of the late Edward and Martha (Rambo) Payson Sr. He served in the United States Air Force. Ed was united in marriage to Norma R. Rine on May 15, 1951 in Waukegan, IL.  After 48 years of marriage, Norma preceded him in death on July 3, 1999.  Ed worked as an operating engineer in construction his entire life.  He was loving and devoted, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Ed is survived by his six children; Norman (Patricia) Payson of Kissimmee, FL, Gary (Iris) Payson Sr. of Elkhorn, WI, David (Susan) Payson of Nakoosa, WI,  Alan (Nieves) Payson of Elkhorn, WI, Richard Payson of Elkhorn, WI, Michael Payson of Elkhorn, WI, sister, Donna (Bernie) Hunter of Siren, WI and sister-in-law, Caryl Rine of Waukegan, IL, five grandchildren; Gary Jr. (Mary), Eleanore (Nick), Natasha (Josh), Gayla (Rob) and David Jr., seven great-grandchildren; Gary III, Molly, Steven, Angela, Melanie, Sydney, and Eric, and two great-great-granddaughters; Lydia and Amelia.   He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Norma, four brothers; Melvin, Arnold, DeWayne and Marvin Payson, two sisters; Eilene Schultz and Leona Messersmith, three half-brothers, Earnest Payson, Vern Payson and Harold Rambo, three half-sisters; Ruth Malineski, Eva Thibedeau and Martha Lyle and sister-in-law, Donna Rine.

Funeral service will be 1:00PM on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory, 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI.  Visitation will be 11:00AM until service time Friday at the funeral home.
