Gary Steffensen Obituary

Gary Alan Steffensen, age 63 of Twin Lakes, WI, passed away at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. Son of Richard Steffensen and Frances Cronk, Gary was born on June 10, 1957, in Chicago, IL. During his life, Gary loved blues music, writing songs, playing harmonica, watching westerns and Lifetime movies, and playing jokes on people. He was known to enjoy chocolate malts and Chicago sports teams, and was lovingly referred to as “Tom Skilling” for his meticulous monitoring and reporting of the weather. He especially loved being a grandfather and spending time with his grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his wife, Irene; three children, Kari (Sam) Tantillo, Alan (Elizabeth) Steffensen, and Jamie (Kent) Stefaniak; seven grandchildren, Kyle and Devin Brugger, Kasandra Cavins, Zoe, Breanna, and Brooke Steffensen, and Avery Stefaniak; mother, Frances Keto; sister, Judy (Roger) Wille-Fisher; sister-in-law, Patricia Steffensen; brother-in-law, Donald Clemen; mother-in-law, Martha Deutinger; honorary son, Michael Lyden; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Richard; brothers, Thomas, Keith, William, and James Steffensen; and sister, Pamela Clemen.

A celebration of life for Gary will be held at a later date. Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Twin Lakes, WI is assisting the family.
