Gerald “Jerry” E. Peters

Gerald “Jerry” E. Peters, 81, of Walworth, WI, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at his daughter’s home in Elkhorn, where he was cared for the last two years. He was born on October 10, 1942, in Elkhorn, WI, the son of the late Forrest and Dorothy (Straley) Peters.  Jerry was raised and started his own family on the family farmette in Walworth, WI, where he developed his love of gardening. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth “Ole” M. Barr on May 30, 1981. Together, they shared 42 years of marriage, filled with many family holidays and memorable vacations.  They shared the love and joy for celebrating and decorating for Christmas every year together. Jerry was known for always having a project to putz around on, being a gifted builder, and baking “ole” cookies. He cherished his beloved dog, Sierra. Jerry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and his contagious giggle will be greatly missed. 

Jerry is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Ole”, three daughters: Lesa (Ken) Reek, Laura (Dan) Duchemin, and Shallece (Dheren Stewart) Peters, two granddaughters: Ashley Duchemin and Heather (Michael) Warren, and three great-grandchildren: Colton, Hunter, and Julia Warren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and former wife, Linda Meyers-Kelm. 

Memorial Service will be 11:00AM on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory, 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI.  Visitation will be 10:00AM until service time Friday at the funeral home. Online guest book at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
