Jack Cooper

Francis “Jack” John Cooper, 80, of Twin Lakes, WI, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on December 28, 2020. Born January 23, 1940 in Huntley, IL, he was the son of the late James and Ann (Vermett) Cooper.

Jack is survived by his wife Donna (Weiler) of 55 years; daughters Lynnae Cooper-Budde (Al) and Dyana Horbach (Casey); grandchildren Melissa and Bryan (Ashley) Budde; siblings Joanne Goff (late Jerry), Dick (Sharon Braeden), Ron (Alex), Elsie Martin (Earl), Kip (Kathy) and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Jack was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to everyone.

Preceding Jack in death were his parents, daughter Shelley, and six siblings: Bob, Bill, Wayne, Gene, Jim and June (Huff).

He farmed with his family for many years and worked as the manager at the Wilmot Stage Stop before retiring in the late 1990s. Jack also served in the United States Army from 1963-65 as a Military Police Officer.

Jack loved gardening, telling colorful stories, looking for his favorite birds and being at home around family. He was famous for a perfectly manicured lawn, impressive flowers, masterful grilling, and he could fix just about anything-a true “Jack of all Trades.”

Thank you to Compassionate Care Hospice, particularly his nurse Noemi, for providing excellent care. Also, thank you to his favorite caregivers, niece Ann Schultz and family friend Angel Darville. A very special thank you to his brother, Kip, for always being there.

A private funeral service for the family will be held. All are invited for a visitation from 2:00PM until 5:00PM on Saturday, January 2nd, 2021 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home, 620 Legion Dr., Twin Lakes, WI 53181. Jack will later be laid to rest in Mound Prairie Cemetery.
