Jean Rae (Vogel) Bourenske

Jean R. Bourenske, 96 of Elkhorn, WI, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Lakeland Health Care Center.  She was born on February 5, 1928 in Solon Mills, IL, the daughter of the late Charles and Katherine (Yanke) Vogel.  Jean graduated from Elkhorn High School with the Class of 1946.  She worked for 43 years with Walworth County Public Health.   Jean was a member of St. John in the Wilderness Episcopal Church of Elkhorn, WI. She enjoyed knitting and collecting antiques.  Jean was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Senior Travel Club.

Jean is survived by her son Mark Bourenske, sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Beverly Vogel, Goddaughter, Jan Burnette, many nieces, nephews, and extended family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: George, Alan, Robert, and Clint, and three sisters, Maxine, Phyllis, and Erlene.

Private Family Burial will take place at Cedarvale Cemetery in Solon Mills, IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John in the Wilderness Episcopal Church or the Alzheimer’s Association. Online guest book at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
