Josephine Burnat

Josephine Burnat, age 94 of Bloomfield, WI (Pell Lake) passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Pell Lake.

The former Josephine Yanta was born on October 19, 1926 in Little Falls, MN, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Ringwelski Yanta.  Josephine moved to Chicago, IL at a young age.  On November 9, 1946 in Chicago, IL, Josephine was united in marriage to William F. Burnat.  William preceded her in death on July 5, 1989.  They moved to Pell Lake in 1984.

Josephine worked as an assembler for the Union Special Co. in Huntley, the Admiral Corp. in Chicago and the Perler Co. in Chicago.  Once she had children, Josephine became a stay at home mother.  She was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pell Lake and then St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Richmond, IL.

Josephine’s family was very important to her.  She enjoyed playing cards and doing puzzles.  She was a member of the Pell Lake Seniors.

Josephine is survived by:  2 daughters, Beverly Herrell of Pell Lake, WI and JoAnn (Michael) Kunhart of Cary, IL; 1 son, Donald of Pell Lake, WI; 5 grandchildren, Crissy, Adam, Thomas, Joseph and David; 4 great grandchildren, Jordan, Dylan, George and Henry; 1 sister, Gertrude Jozaits of Chicago, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William; 1 son, Michael; 10 brothers and sisters, Joseph, Alois, Sylvester, Raymond, John, George, Leona, Cecelia, Agnes and Carol and a son in law Glenn Herrell.

A Private Funeral Mass for the Burnat Family will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Richmond, IL with Monsignor Martin Heinz officiating.  Inurnment will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.  Memorial remembrances in Josephine’s name may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church 10519 Main St. Richmond, IL 60071.  The Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home of Genoa City is assisting the Burnat Family.
