Karen M. (Smith) Bielas

Karen M. Bielas, 65 of Janesville, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, WI.  She was born February 14, 1957 in Burlington, WI, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Loretta (Arnold) Smith. Karen has been united in marriage to John J. Bielas for the past 41 years.

Besides spending time with her family, Karen had a passion for cooking, gardening, and traveling with her husband and grandchildren. Helping her grandchildren with their homework brought her great joy. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and the absolute best Granny that there ever was. 
 

Karen is survived by her loving husband John, two children: John (Kimberly) Bielas and Lisa Bielas, three grandchildren: Jackson, Lily and Caitlin, and her four siblings: MaryEllen Smith, Patricia Baseggio, Michael (Donna) Smith and Rita Sullivan, brother-in-law Tom (Sue) Bielas. She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws Arthur and Dorothy Bielas.
 

A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held at 11:30AM on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home, 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI. Visitation will be 10:00AM until service time Friday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the MPN Research Foundation in her honor.
