Kenneth Carlson Obituary

The world has regretfully lost one of the finest human beings that it had to offer. On January 4th, 2021 Kenneth Wayne Carlson passed away from natural causes at the age of 82. He was born in Tomahawk Wisconsin on July 19th, 1938 to Arthur and Vera Carlson. He graduated from Minocqua High School in 1957.

A few paragraphs could not possibly describe this man as it would take a novel, the adversity he overcame, the impact he's had on so many and the example he was to all on how to live successfully with love, honor, integrity & dignity. He was a hero to his country, his family and anyone else who needed his help.

He proudly dedicated over three decades of his life to the military. He served in the US Marines and the US Army. He spent over 13 years as an Army recruiter and was Wisconsin's top recruiter multiple times. He served in the Military Police for over 20 years and ended his military career overseas as First Sergeant of the 127th MP Company in Hanau Germany. He was a decorated wartime veteran that fought in the Vietnam war and was captured along with another wounded US soldier. He overpowered and escaped his captors. He carried the other wounded soldier over his shoulder and was himself wounded during the escape. He was a very modest man who would never seek to be glorified, he always did things simply because he felt it was the right thing to do.

After he retired from the military he became a real estate broker. He thoroughly enjoyed helping people find and purchase homes. He enjoyed sports. He coached, refereed and played. He was a big fan of all Wisconsin sports teams. He was successful at everything he did in life and always gave his best especially when it came to his family. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed life and lived on his own terms. Everyone who has ever had the honor of crossing paths with Ken loved and respected him. That he will be missed by many is an understatement.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Patricia (Kromray) Carlson. His two sons Scott & Steven Carlson as well as his grandchildren Ryan & Jaden Carlson all of whom will proudly carry on his name.
