Kenneth Happ Obituary

Kenneth Charles Happ, 66, passed away peacefully on the morning of March 18, 2021 with his family by his side.

Ken was born on December 25, 1954 at the Lockborne Air Force Base in Columbus, Ohio to Donald & Patricia (Donavon) Happ. Following his time here, his family moved to their family vegetable farm in Trevor, WI where he spent many years growing fresh vegetables for the community. On October 15, 1983 he married his wife of 37 years, Patricia (Rasch). They settled into a house they built outside of Wilmot, WI, where they raised two beautiful children, Matt & Jenny.

He was an incredibly loving and proud Husband, Father, Grandfather, Co-Worker, and Friend to anyone. He had such a passion to work hard, have a green thumb, be a friend to all, never give up, and to explore the world through nature. He had such an easy-going personality and an open-minded nature that it led him to do many amazing things throughout his lifetime. Ken retired after 39 years at Snap-on, where he received numerous patents for designs he had worked on as a designer. Aside from work, he proudly served for many years as a Kenosha County Fair Board Executive Director, Kenosha County Flower & Plant Open Class Superintendent, Bong Naturalist Association Volunteer, and Master Gardener of Kenosha County. His passion for plants flourished as he also operated an in-home greenhouse operation, where he grew thousands of plants for others to enjoy. When his children were young, he also proudly served as a Boy Scout Troop Leader for Troop 328 of Salem. He was a true inspiration and impacted many lives over the years.

Ken was always willing and happy to lend a helping hand anywhere and he enjoyed a variety of hobbies such as gardening, traveling the USA, camping, fishing, hunting, atving, volunteering, building creations for many people, putting together puzzles, sprint car watching, playing trivia, learning about history, competing in open class at the fair, tractor and truck pulls…..upon many other things. He was a true family man and valued making memories with his family every day. He taught many people to value every minute you can spend together with those that you love. He will truly be missed by many!

Ken was preceded in death by his parents Donald & Patricia. He is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Matt (Joelle) & Jenny (Josh Hesse); grandchildren, Cooper, Austin, Aubree, & Ellena Happ; siblings Laura (Robert) Banike, Donald Happ, & Beverly Zak; Brother in Law to  Francis Rasch and Mike Rasch. Further survived by  nieces & nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home of Twin Lakes, WI (620 Legion Drive).
