Lawrence “Larry” Halko, age 73, of Bloomfield WI, passed away on Monday, November 13th, 2023, at his home. Son of Michael and Marie (Arruda) Halko. Larry was born on August 22nd, 1950, in Chicago, IL. He served his country honorably in the United States Army right out of high school and is a Veteran of the Vietnam War. While being a “Jack of all trades,” he believed in hard work as he made his living as a plumber. He traveled both Internationally in the military as well as throughout the United States, with only Hawaii and Alaska as the two states he never made it to. Larry was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Chicago Bears and Wisconsin Badgers. During his younger years, he truly loved to play golf. He especially loved playing with his mother. Larry was a huge fan of fantasy football, and in fact, his Twin Sister, Laura started their fantasy league in the 90’s. He made sure to check his line-up for the week immediately after the prior week’s games ended. He had a love for the holidays, which he showed with his talent for decorating houses especially at Christmas time. Larry loved his family and adored his daughters and grandchildren. He was so proud of his girls and their life accomplishments.
Larry is survived by his daughters: Natalie (Tim) Gadomski, Melissa Halko, Lindsay Halko, and Rhiana (Brad) Thomas, 2 sisters: Paula (Bill) Kunz, and Laura (Larry) Hart, and 6 grandchildren: Michael Brenner, Shyann Thomas, Ryan Thomas, Bryson Bailey, and Nicholas & Olivia Gadomski.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, late wife Linda J. (Keisler) Halko, George Halko, and Jeffrey Halko.
A memorial service will be held after the holidays in January. Haase-Lockwood & Associates funeral home and crematory are proud to serve the Halko family.
