Lawrence "Larry" E. Vant

Lawrence E. Vant, 91:  formerly of MacLean Rd. Elkhorn, WI, died Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Holton Manor in Elkhorn, WI. He was born May 26, 1928 in Elkhorn, WI, the son of the late Arthur and Violet (Baker) Vant.  Larry graduated from Badger High School Class of 1948.  He married Shirley M. Bartenbach on October 2, 1948 at the United Methodist Church in Lake Geneva.  Shirley preceded him in death on December 23, 2003 after 55 years of marriage.  Larry worked for the Wisconsin Power Light Co. for over 36 years.  He was a member of Lake Geneva United Methodist Church of Lake Geneva.  Larry served as a leader for the 4-H and as sexton for the North Geneva Cemetery.  He also was a supervisor for the Town of Geneva.  Larry enjoyed his family camping trips and fishing.

Larry is survived by his five children; Cynthia (Alvin) Nettesheim of Elkhorn, Loren (Kay) Vant of Whitewater, Kenneth (Cindra) Vant of Shawno, Connie (Doug) Kretschmer of Walworth and Carol (Scott) LaMay of Green Bay, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and his sister, Joyce Aldrich of Avalon.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Arnold “Bert” Vant and two sisters; Ellen Zweibel and Alice Border.

Funeral service will be 11:00AM on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home, 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI, with Rev. Heather Brewer officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
