Marc Steven Demske (71) of Elkhorn WI passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2022 at Aurora Summit Hospital. He valiantly battled progressive respiratory ailments, always with determination and positive spirit.
Marc was born Feb.14,1951 in Berwyn IL to Robert and Nellie (Tucker)Demske. Marc took great pride in his family: sons Steven Knight (Worcester,MA) and Robert Beets (and wife Becca, Madison WI) were his proclaimed biggest accomplishment, Jeane Northey his adoring companion of 32 years, Michael Demske his devoted brother. The Demske family relocated to WI residing at Lake Wandawega enjoying summers there since the early 60’s.
As a 1969 EAHS graduate, Marc was held in high regard as a student and football athlete. A halfback specifically. He attended UW Madison during the tumultuous 1969 campus uprisings. He stood front and center for causes which forged his character. Marc traveled many parts of the country starting entrepreneurial adventures and businesses. Eventually he owned and managed 2 popular spots in Walworth County: Lakeshore House, Delavan and Green Parrot Hwy 12/67 Elkhorn.Marc became everyone’s best friend during these times.
Marc (aka Axel) performed in many local bands.Always claiming to be “a guitar player, not a musician”, he inspired audiences large and small for 50 years. Axel’s lofty solos were legendary and will be forever remembered. His stylings ranged from folk, blues, rock and Americana.
Alby Materials (becoming SuperMix and Point Ready Mix) was Marc’s place of employment as truck driver. He served as shop steward for many years and achieved notoriety of skill, safety and excellence.
