Mary Ann Gierut, Wife and Mother, age 74 of Silver Lake, WI. passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Aurora Medical Center of Kenosha with Mary Ann's devoted husband and loving daughter at her side.
Mary Ann was born on October 7, 1946 in Chicago, IL. to her mother, Elizabeth Danny. Mary Ann was united in marriage with the love of her life and best friend, Edmund Gierut, on February 28, 1964.
Mary Ann was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom for her beloved daughter, Sheila. She was a dedicated wife and mother who kept a beautiful home, and was known for her “green thumb”, both in her home and her in her carefully tended garden Normally around this time of year, Mary Ann could be found browsing the Burpee catalog, planning her vegetable garden, and getting ready to start the tomato and green pepper plants for her family. She loved her dog very much and cared about all animals very deeply. She always went out of her way to be extra kind to them.
Mary Ann and her best friend Michelle Schiele spent many days chatting away about their strong family values and political beliefs. Mary Ann was also a very talented artist and crafter who loved to paint, draw, and create things. Her sassy, spunky, tell-it-like-it-is personality will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 57 wonderful years, Edmund; her only daughter Sheila Gierut (Shawn Nicewarner); her granddaughter Amanda Bates and great-granddaughter Halena Antzoulatos; and her faithful canine companion; Punkin.
Mary Ann's beautiful smile, her sweet thoughtfulness, strength and her loving and caring heart will forever be missed by her family.

A private family service will be held. The Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Twin Lakes, WI is assisting Mary Ann’s family.
