Michael Thomas Laubinger

Michael T. Laubinger, age 64, of Genoa City, WI, died Thursday April 17, 2020 of complications from the Coronavirus at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI.

Michael Thomas Laubinger was born on December 19, 1955 in New Lisbon, WI, the son of the late Merlin A. and Anna Marie Boyle Laubinger.  Michael moved to Genoa City in 1972.  He graduated from Badger High School in 1974 and attended Fox Valley Technical College to be a Conservation Warden.  He went on to be an electrician and owned Mike’s Electric in Genoa City from 1994 until 2019.

On June 26, 1976 in Richmond, IL, Michael was united in marriage to Katherine M. Bauman.  They attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Richmond, IL.  

Mike enjoyed deer hunting at his family property in New Lisbon called Camp Lotta Beer.  He enjoyed many good times at camp.  He was a member of the Woods and Waters Sportsmen's Club in Lake Geneva, WI.  He enjoyed going to garage sales, flea markets and anywhere he could get a deal or make a deal.  He was known as the Fred Sanford, “Sanford and Son” of Genoa City.  He was a collector of everything. 

Mike is survived by:  His wife Katherine “Kathy”; 3 children, Thomas (Meredith) Laubinger of Pell Lake, WI, Teresa Laubinger of Genoa City, WI and Eric (Alicia) Laubinger of Pell Lake, WI; 9 grandchildren, Ashley, Catilyn, Destiny, Eli, MacKenzie, Auna. Sophie, Arienette and Barron; 2 great grandchildren, Emma and Evan; 4 sisters, Patti (Sid) Johnson of Alto Pass, IL, Peggy (Bernard) Leonard of Antioch, IL, Laura Parker of Iowa and Kathleen (Dennis) Pierce of Genoa City, WI.

Mike was preceded in death by 2 granddaughter’s, Leia Bondowski and Carleen Laubinger and a brother, William.

A GATHERING OF FRIENDS WILL BE HELD FROM 10:00am UNTIL A MEMORIAL SERVICE AT 12:00pm FOR MIKE on Saturday, June 27, 2020 12:00PM at the Haase-Lockwood and Assoc. Funeral Home in Genoa City.   We will be following the CDC Guidelines that are in place on that date.  The Laubinger Family has asked that any Memorial Remembrances to be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, 375 Bishops Way, Suite 220, Brookfield, WI 53005.  Please leave a remembrance or condolences to Mike’s Family on the Tribute Wall at the top of this obituary.  Thank You.
