Patrick M Sweeney

Patrick M. Sweeney, age 84 of Twin Lakes, WI, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 21, 2020.  He was born in Chicago, IL on February 4, 1936.  The son of the late Daniel and Marie (Donahue) Sweeney, he moved with his family from Chicago to Spring Grove, IL in 1951.  Pat was on the football team at Nippersink (now Richmond) High School and graduated in 1954.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1954-1957.  On Sept. 2, 1967, he was united in marriage to Virginia Ann Denney.  Pat was a salesman for Jays Foods for thirty years, retiring in 1998.  He was an avid sports fan.  He especially loved cheering on his beloved Fighting Irish football team from the University of Notre Dame, the Chicago Cubs, and the Bears.  He enjoyed spending time on Lake Elizabeth with his family boating, fishing, and swimming.  He had a lifelong love of reading.  He enjoyed being a grandpa and spending time with his grandkids.  Pat was a legendary kidder and joke teller, always quick with a big laugh.

Pat is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Virginia, son Michael (Renee') Sweeney, daughter Jennifer (Morgan) Milner, grandchildren Kaitlyn, Ben, Owen, Jack and Finn, brother James (Carol) Sweeney,  sisters Jeannette Nagel, Kathleen (Tom) Boyd, and Maureen Notz, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jack, Daniel, and Robert Sweeney, and sisters Mary Jule Maas and Therese Tichawa.  

Private Funeral Service will be held at the Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home in Twin Lakes.  Committal will follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove with full military honors.
