Randall N. Utter, age 75, of Elkhorn, WI, died on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Frontida Assisted Living in Elkhorn. Son of the late Everett and Phyllis (Lasch), Randy was born on November 19, 1947, in Geneva, WI. Randy entered the United States Army in 1966 and served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. He achieved the rank of Sergeant and received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
Following his time in the service, Randy worked many different jobs throughout his life, bringing him in touch with numerous lifelong friends throughout the years. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family but especially with his three grandsons as well as talking of his love for classic cars especially from the 1950s and 1960s. Randy will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor, love for singing and his soft spot for cream puffs from the Walworth County Fair.
He is survived by his daughters, Kristine (Robert) Purcell and Andrea (Barclay) Ferguson; grandchildren, Travis Purcell, Luke Purcell, and Derek Martin; siblings, Wally (Jennine) Utter, David (Peggy) Utter, Pat (Don) Dyer, Doug (Gerrie) Utter, and Penny (Steve) Rensel as well as his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Danny Utter.
Randy’s family would like to acknowledge the love and support he received from the staff at Frontida Assisted Living throughout his stay but especially during his final days.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home, 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00AM at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery after the service.
