Rose Kocol Obituary

Rose Mary Kocol, 96, of Twin Lakes, WI passed away peacefully at Aurora Medical Center in Burlington, WI, on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. She was born on August 8, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Gryzch) Troka. Rose was united in marriage with Thaddeus “Ted” Kocol on August 28, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois. She took much pride in her home and garden and was an avid oil painter. She spent much time at the Twin Lakes VFW, where she enjoyed watching her her partner Bill play in the band, and La Salette Missionaries and Shrine Church in Twin Lakes, WI where she enjoyed participating in art and craft fairs. Rose also helped out at camps for under privileged children with her sister Frances. She loved Penny, her faithful Jack Russell Terrier, road trips with her husband Ted, and loved her coffee (which was almost always half cream!) Rose was very set in her ways with high standards, but she had a generous heart, matched only by her very quick and  sarcastic wit, which always made others laugh. She had the best stories of a life lived in earlier Chicago. Rose was extremely thankful for the wonderful neighbors, their children, and caretakers that always watched over her later in life.

Rose is survived by her stepson, William Kocol; stepdaughters, Kathy and Doreen Kocol; nieces, Patricia Krauleidis, Carol (Jack) Spidale; grandchildren, Craig, Steve and Donald Kocol, Cathy McCall, William and Allen Patton; great grandchildren, Danielle, Heather, William, Ross, Ryan, Rebecca and Donald Kocol, Tessa Sorrisso, Kaitlyn, Collin, Ellie, and Irelyn McCall; great-great-grandchildren, Sylvia McCall, Coda and J.J. Kocol; great nephews, Steve, Rick, and Mike (Brandee) Krauleidis; and great-great nephew, Max Krauleidis.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Mary (Gryzch) Troka, husband, Ted Kocol; friend and partner, William Moore; sister, Frances Olechney; brothers, Edward and Hank Troka; granddaughter, Jeannie Patton; and stepdaughter, Kathy Patton.

A private celebration of life will be done at a later date. Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory of Twin Lakes, WI, is assisting the family. An on-line guest book is available at https://www.haaselockwoodfhs.com
