Russell D. Say, age 86, of Twin Lakes, WI, died November 9, 2022. He was born in Seattle, WA on August 20, 1936. The son of the late Robert and Ann (Johnson) Say. He attended grade school in Seattle and graduated from Grandview High School in 1954. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force and went to basic training. He studied and graduated from Jet Engine School in IL. He was stationed in Germany from 1955-1958 when he was discharged honorably.
On weekend passes he would come to Twin Lakes where he met his future bride Nancy Koehn. He relocated to Twin Lakes when they married on September 6, 1958 at Peace Lutheran Church in Wilmot, WI. Nancy preceded him in death on May 5, 2006.
He worked at Harbaugh Lumber Co, Marty’s Bar, and Kenosha County Hwy Dept. He also worked for the Village of Twin Lakes Police Dept and served as a village board trustee. From 1970-1998 he worked for WI Southern Gas Co. He also worked for the refuse/recycling plant for the village. Russ served on the election board, chairman of the cemetery board, an board of review and community service supervisor.
In 1959 he joined the Twin Lakes Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad and is a lifetime member. He served the dept as a trustee, fire inspector, and cook for meeting nights.
He loved to fish, crack jokes and make people laugh, tell old stories and spend time with his family.
Survived by his children: Russell (Keitha) Say, Terri (Scott) Hudson. Grandfather to Allison (Peter) Brandt, Paige (Jimmy) Griggs, Mitch Hudson, Marcus Hudson. Great Grandfather to Nora and Weston Brandt, Jordyn Griggs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert Say and Charles LaRue; wife, Nancy; in-laws, Arthur and Ruth Koehn; step -grandson, Daniel Brown; and special companion, Doris Miller.
A visitation will be held on Monday November 14, 2022, from 10:00AM until 12:00PM at the Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI.
