In lieu of flowers Shirley’s wish was to ensure a cure was found in our lifetime for her sweet great granddaughter Adele (Addy) who has 4H Leukodystrophy (POLR3-Related Leukodystrophy). There is currently no cure for any of the leukodystrophies but are all treatable. It is essential to maintain therapies and expert medical care to improve health and maintain overall quality of life. Donations can be made to the Yaya Foundation for 4H Leukodystrophy ( https://yayafoundation4hl.org/donate/ ) where 100% of your donation goes to research for a cure. Donations can also be made to Team Addy (TeamAddy.com) (see recent article for more information: https://www.mountain-parent.com/wellness-feature/ ) where all proceeds go to Addy’s special needs, required care, and give her the best life and experiences possible. Thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness and generosity in meeting our mother’s wishes.
