Stephanie Horabik Obituary

Stephanie A. Horabik, age 99, of the Village of Bloomfield, WI (Pell Lake), died Saturday morning, December 28, 2019 at her home.

The former Stephanie Anastasia Piechota was born on January 14, 1920 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Adalbert and Hedwig Kawalec Piechota.  On April 25, 1948 at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Chicago, Il, Stephanie was united in marriage to Walter Horabik.  They lived in Chicago, Il before moving to the Genoa City/Pell Lake area in 1959.

Stephanie was a homemaker and an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she sang in the choir.  After the closing of St. Mary’s, she became a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Twin Lakes.  She enjoyed gardening and her flowers.

Stephanie is survived by her daughter, Christine (Richard) Weber of Genoa City, WI, 2 sons, Marion (Nancy) Horabik of New Lisbon, WI and Walter (Jacquelyn) Horabik of Tomahawk, WI; 9 grandchildren, Matthew (Kristin) Horabik, Kristin (Jeff) Kulig, Joseph (Johanna) Horabik, Angela (Brad) Wells, Walter M Horabik, Richard (Sheila) Weber, Adam (Jill) Weber, Benjamin (Brenda) Weber and Emily (Clint) Bowman; 17 great grandchildren, Elizabeth Kulig, Jacob Kulig, Mathias Weber, Madeline Weber, Kylie Horabik, Taylor Horabik, Cal Weber, Seth Weber, Noah Weber, Anastasia Weber, Clair Weber, Olivia Horabik, Hadley Horabik, Paxton Horabik, Norman Wells, Oliver Wells and Sawyer Wells; 2 sisters, Emily (Stanley) Szlachetka of Mielec, Poland and Genavieve Magda of Mielec, Poland and her special family, Khamel (Nicole) Mumford, Turner Wegener, Cullen Wegener, Jeffrey Wegener, Edward Mumford and Antonio Mumford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Beatric Kaminski and Helen Wlodarski and 2 brothers, Joseph Piechota and Stanley Piechota.

The Horabik Family will receive friends from 9:00AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM on Saturday JANUARY 11, 2020 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 701 N. Lake Ave. Twin Lakes, WI.  Interment will follow Mass in St. John’s Cemetery.  Memorial Remembrances in Stephanie’s name may be made to Aurora At Home Hospice.  The Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home of Genoa City is serving the Horabik Family.
