Timothy Allen Lockwood

Timothy Allen Lockwood age 66 of Lake Geneva, WI died on Thursday February 29, 2024, after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer.  He fought with all his will for the people that he loved so dearly.  Tim was born on February 21, 1958; son of the late LaVerne and Joyce (Jacobs) Lockwood.  Tim was a 1976 graduate of Elkhorn High School and moved right into his schooling to become a Funeral Director.  He graduated from Mortuary school and became a licensed funeral director in 1980, officially kicking off his funeral service career.  On May 15, 1983, Tim opened the doors to Lockwood Funeral Home in Elkhorn, WI and began building his business with the support of his cousin, Tom Jacobs. He earned the trust of each family he served and built relationships with each family he cared for.  In 1995 Tim partnered and became a combined owner and operator of funeral homes in Elkhorn, Twin Lakes, and Genoa City, where the Haase and Lockwood families continue to serve today.

On October 17, 1987, Tim married Mary Fincutter at St. Patrick’s Parish in Elkhorn, WI.  Tim gave Mary all of his love and admiration and their bond grew stronger each day.  Tim and Mary began their life together building what would be the home and countryside paradise that they raised their family in.  Tim taught his four children what a proud father looked like. They also learned from him what it was to be a good parent, a good spouse, a good person, and an honest businessman. 

Tim’s favorite pass time was working in his yard, creating beautiful landscapes throughout their property. His visions and dreams were big, but there wasn’t any challenge he couldn’t take on. With every completed project his personal oasis became “more gooder”.  Tim had a quick wit and could make light of any situation with his humor and his one-liners. His responses in conversation were unique to him and they fit his personality and always made people laugh.

Among his numerous accomplishments, Tim was a former supervisor of the Town of Geneva, he sat for a time on the Walworth County Board of Supervisors, and most recently was a Trustee for St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  Tim dedicated his life for over 40 years to the Ministry of Funeral Service and he touched the lives of many grieving families. Helping people process their grief while shepherding them through difficult times was what he was naturally born to do.  Tim had a lot of love to give, which was a good thing since he had such a large and beautiful family to give his love to.  He was very proud of each one of his children and he adored his grandchildren.  He will be deeply missed but he will also live on through his family members left behind, for each one of them carries a characteristic that belongs to Tim. 

Tim is preceded in death by his parents; LaVerne and Joyce, his stepfather William Aspinall, his father-in-law Ray Fincutter Sr, and recently, his mother-in-law Bernice Fincutter.  He is survived by his loving wife; Mary; children; Alex (Shauna) Lockwood, Daniel (Tracey) Lockwood, Andrew (Megan) Lockwood, Megan Lockwood; grandchildren; Beckham, Brooks, Declan, Claire, Grace, Lyla; brother; Steve (Joanne) Lockwood; stepsiblings; Kathi (Alan) Bosworth, Audrey (Ray) Young, Dale (Jess) Aspinall, Neal (Karen) Aspinall; many brothers and sisters-in law; many nieces and nephews; and his dog; Sophie. 

A visitation for Tim will be held on Sunday March 3, 2024 from 2:00PM to 6:00PM at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin Street Elkhorn, WI 53121.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday March 4, 2024 at 11:00AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 107 W. Walworth Street Elkhorn, WI 53121, Officiated by Fr. Larry Chapman and Deacon Arnie Bryson.  Tim’s eulogy will be given by Pastor Tom De Groot.  Tim will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Geneva, WI.
