William "Bill" Acuff Obituary

WILLIAM (Bill) ACUFF – Elkhorn, Wisconsin

Bill Acuff, 79, passed away after a brief illness, Tuesday, 26 January 2021 and rests now with our Lord.  Born into the world son of Glen and Maude Acuff on 09 August 1941 in Waterloo, Iowa.  Bill lived a full and active life in excellent health.

Bill graduated from Independence HS-Independence KS in 1959.  There, he met and married his wife of 60 years, Sharon K Acuff.  Returning to Iowa, they started a family while Bill attended and graduated from Blackhawk Technical College in 1966.  Accepting his first professional position with the Micro Switch Company, Bill moved the family to Freeport, Illinois where he began and grew a successful business career in manufacturing with positions in WI, IL, WA, and TX, before retiring in Elkhorn, Wisconsin in 2002.  In retirement Bill enjoyed seasonal get aways to sunny beaches with his wife Sharon, exploring the history and local customs.  Family was always Bill’s center and primary in his daily activities. He was very proud of his sons as fathers and their accomplishments.  He especially took pride in sharing his knowledge and fine taste for quality wines at family gatherings. AND playing with their beloved great- granddaughters whom he affectionately dubbed “his crew.”

Bill is survived by his wife Sharon and their two sons; Pack Acuff (Denice Ryan), and Ric Acuff (Lisa).  Four grandchildren; Jori Guzman(Luis), Kaelyn , Sarah and Kyle Acuff.  Three great-granddaughter; Marlee, Penelope, and Veda Guzman (his crew)…and a soon to be born great-grandson Guzman. As well as three siblings; Kenny Acuff (Sharon), Fred Acuff (Glenda), Judy Hedgren (Rudy), their families and many cousins, and friends.

Honoring Bill’s wishes, his ashes will be partially scattered in eternity in an Iowa corn field and a sun drenched, ocean washed island beach; places he cherished.  It is a farewell to be shared with his wife, sons and their spouses in loving remembrance of the loving example he was to us all.  He will be forever missed.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
