Zachary M. Schmit

Zachary M. Schmit, 31, of Elkhorn, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in Milwaukee, WI.  He was born January 7, 1987 in Burlington, WI, the son of Steven and Darlene (Piechocki) Schmit.  Zach graduated from Elkhorn Area High School and went on to graduate from Fox Valley Technical College.  He enjoyed playing and watching all sports. Zach coached and umpired youth baseball in the Elkhorn area.  He was also an avid poker player. Zach had a great sense of humor making everyone laugh and smile around him.  

Zach is survived by his loving parents, his brother, Jerad M. (Amber Guthman) Schmit of Elkhorn, WI, Zach’s girlfriend, Meghan McDonough and his grandmother, Janice Cantrell of Burlington, WI.  He is further survived by his aunts and uncles: Danny (Dawn) and Brian (Pam) Piechocki, Michael Schmit ,Linda (Jimi) Daniels, Kathy, Raymond (Joan) and Wayne (Debbie) Howel, several cousins: Gabby, Maddy, Evan, Jamie, Carrie, Jeremy, Melani, Greg, Jeff, Melissa, Raymond Jr., Vivian, Marty, Justin and Tyler, and by a host of other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Charles Schmit, Nancy (Ray) Thornton and Daniel (Posie) Piechocki.
