Charles L. “Butch” Malsch, age 74 of the Village of Bloomfield, WI, (Pell Lake) passed away Monday morning, February 20, 2017 at his home.
Charles “Butch” was born on May 6, 1942 in Wisconsin, the son of the late John and Lottie May Rudolph Malsch. On September 7, 1968 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva, WI, Butch was united in marriage to Patrisha Erwin.
Butch served in the U.S. Army as a Sp4 from April 22, 1964 until discharge on April 19, 1966. He served in Viet Nam and was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri. He earned the Good Conduct Medal, Marksman and the Vietnam Service Medal. He worked for many years in the maintenance department at the Morton Chemical Co. in Ringwood, IL. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Christian Church in Lake Geneva.
Butch’s hobby was working and collecting steam engines and antique farm equipment. He was a member and past president of the Northern Illinois Steampower Club, past president of the Illinois Historical Boiler Assoc. and attended the Rock River Thrasheree for many years.
Butch is survived by: his wife Patrisha; 1 son, John (Britta) of Genoa City, WI; 1 grandson, Lucas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Marie Voss and Edith Morris.
Visitation will be from 9:00AM Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Mt. Zion Christian Church, 2330 Hy 120, Lake Geneva, WI until the time of Funeral Services at the Church.
