Doris Irene Rockenbach

Doris I. Rockenbach, age 86, of Lake Geneva, WI, died Wednesday evening May 18, 2016 at the Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa, WI surrounded by her family.

The former Doris Irene Eddy was born on October 30, 1929 in Genoa City, WI, the daughter of the late George and Georgia Hoskin Eddy.  On January 29, 1949 in Richmond, IL, Doris was united in marriage to Edward J. Bluhm, II.  He preceded her in death on November 30, 1990.  In May of 1993, Doris was united in marriage to Rodney S. “Jim” Rockenbach.  He preceded her in death on March 30, 2007. Doris lived in Genoa City most of her life and moved to Lake Geneva in 1994.

Doris graduated from Genoa City High School.  She was a homemaker and formerly managed Am Core Aluminum Foundry in Genoa City after her husband Edward died.  She also worked for PFI Fashions in Genoa City.

Doris was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Richmond, IL. She was a Sunday School Superintendent and taught Sunday School.  She was also a director of the WELCA.  She was a member of the Sponholtz-Deignan American Legion Post #183 Ladies Auxiliary and the Order of Eastern Star.  She also was a member of the Twin Lakes Senior Citizen’s.  She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed gardening and reading.

Doris is survived by: 1 daughter-Georgia “Jordy” (Steve) Fleming of Woodstock, IL; 1 son-Edward J. (Nancy Ann) Bluhm, III; 4 grandchildren-Edward J. Bluhm IV; Alexandra E. Fleming, Zachary S. Fleming and Ryan K. Fleming; 1 great grandchild-Harleigh R. Fleming; 1 brother-Eugene “Sid” (Charlene) Eddy of Genoa City, WI.

She was preceded in death by: 1 daughter-Deborah Jeanne in 1949; 2 sisters-Lucille Carroll and Beverly McLaughlin and 1 brother Duane Eddy.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM Monday May 23, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church 6000 Broadway St. Richmond, IL with Pastor Andy Tyrell officiating.  Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Genoa City.  The Rockenbach Family will receive friends from 10:00AM until the time of services at the Church.  Memorial remembrances may be made to the Bloomfield/Genoa City Fire/Rescue Assoc.
