Bernace Marie (Francoeur) Hardy

Bernace M. Hardy, age 88, of Venice, Florida died Wednesday evening December 9, 2015 at the Venice Regional Bayfront Health Hospital in Venice, Florida.

Bernace Marie Francoeur was born on May 8, 1927 in Beaverville, Illinois, the daughter of the late Beaucie J. and Leona E. Regnier Francoeur.  Bernace graduated from Genoa City High School in the Class of 1945.  On August 3, 1946 in Richmond, Illinois, Bernace was united in marriage to Owen Gerald “Bud” Hardy.  He preceded her in death on December 19, 1975.

Bernace lived in Genoa City, Wisconsin for many years before moving to Winter Haven, Florida 26 years ago.  She moved to Venice recently to be closer to family.

Bernace was a loyal employee for over 20 years as a secretary for the Morton Chemical Company (Rohm andHaas Company) in Ringwood, Illinois.  She enjoyed sewing, doing crafts and reading.

Bernace is survived by her 3 children-Gerald (Wendy) Hardy of Overland Park, Kansas, Linda (Chris Castelluccio) Yopps of Venice, Florida and Diane (Rick) Ham of Lutz, Florida; 5 grandchildren-Benjamin (Paige) and Adam (Jennifer) Hardy, Rob (Erica) Yopps and Austin and Reed Ham; 8 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-Donna (Richard) Schultz of Brookfield, WI and Karen (John) Trimble of Delavan, WI.  Bernace's family also includes three step-grandchildren-Joy (Durondee) Anderson, David (Bonnie) Yopps, Laurel Garver and 4 step-great grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers-Leonard Francoeur and Percell Francoeur.

A Celebration of Bernace's  Life will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, February 27, 2015 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc.
