Our sympathy to your family. As parents, we have fond memories of Paul as a teacher who was able to appreciate the uniqueness of students who 'marched to a different drummer' (his words). He enriched the lives of so many students at Elkhorn Middle School!

I want to express to the family all of my love & concern during your time of grief. Having lost both of my parents, I know the pain and agony losing someone who was so close to you feels like. Just know that I am praying for you. Paul was such a pleasure to be around. He always stopped to say HI! and made you feel like you were part of his family and friendships. God Bless. Pam Lange

Larry Pfannebecker was sad to hear of Paul's death and the loss of a long-time friend
whom Larry also knew as an excellent husband and father, a fine educator, and an
out-standing person all around. Larry has asked that I send our condolences to Paul's
wife and family. He looks forward to being able to share his thoughts and feelings more personally with family members on Friday at the Memorial service for Paul.

It is with deep sorrow that my wife and I hear of Paul's passing. Paul and I were classmates for many years, through Elementary, Jr. High, and High School in Lebanon, IN. The times we had together, and in some cases, the trouble we got into together would take much more space than available here to write about. After HS and College our life's paths went different directions; he into teaching and I into, shall we say, National Defense. My wife and I did have a chance, several years ago, to come through Elkhorn to see and spend time with Paul and Elaine. Also he was one to keep in contact with his old High School friends and attended most, if not all, our 5-year re-unions. I spoke with him for nearly an hour as recently as 2 weeks ago. My eyes are a little "misty" as I pen this and know that our frequent friendly discussions will no longer be. To Elaine, Sienna, Greta, JP and all your children and families, Jeanie and I send our heartfelt condolences. We Pray for you all as you deal with your grief and tremendous loss. He was a Good Man and Equally Good Friend. I shall miss him!

I am so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. Having taught with him so many years, I came to know him as a quiet, gentle, and calming influence on our team. His life experiences growing up certainly gave him insights to students that others of us could not know. I enjoyed his visits to us after he retired and am saddened that life's demands keeps friends apart until it is too late. He will always be remembered by those he reached as an educator and those who taught with him. Susanne and I are sorry for your loss.
