I am a past math student of Mr. Kelly from 1980-1984. Math was not a natural ability for me and I had to apply myself well. I made very high marks in his class, but not without good instruction.

My father was a peer and friend of Mr. Kelly also at DDHS. As such, I had occasion to go to parties, Boat Shows in Milwaukee, and the like with them. I enjoyed the Kelly family humor and his good natured kids to at these times.

Mr. Kelly is one of the teachers from my childhood I distinctly remember, and I can still quote some things he used as analogies in Geometry and Algebra class! AND some of the things he did that I still laugh about today.

Today using the internet I discovered Bruce had passed in May. I am very sad to hear. My condolence to the family. He is sure to be missed. A fine person I will remember.

My sincere condolences in your loss. As a 1976 DDHS graduate and student of Mr. Kelly's, I was so grateful for his guidance and patience as I struggled through Geometry. He assisted with my passing and is a person I admired for this as well as his fun nature. He left a mark on so many lives. Thank you for your gifts and may you find peace from your illness in heaven.

Jeanette and Family - My most heartfelt condolences. I was so surprised and saddened to hear about Bruce. So many good memories and good times. I will always remember the campfires -- and the hunting adventures here in Wyoming.
I wish the pictures I have from those trips were digital and I could post them. Also the trip to Chicago for pizza. Bruce and Brian will be spending time together again - -.
They are at peace and we will always have our memories. God's blessing to you all.

I last spoke with Bruce & Jeannette at Fenton High School's 50th reunion. We had a wonderful time catching up on each other's lives. Though separated by lots of time (50 years) and lots of space (Wisconsin-Puerto Rico), I always though of Bruce as a good person and friend. May he rest in peace. My sincere condolences to the entire Kelly family.

Bruce was one hell of a great man. He will be missed at our annual camp out where I have had the pleasure of hearing his stories about dinosaur digs, hunting, and all about his family. My kids constantly request "Bruce's French Toast" . We will certainly honor you each and every year at camp out during Saturday morning breakfasts. Thank you for being a friend Bruce.

I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to know Bruce. I did not know him well, but was lucky enough to spend a week with him and Jon hunting turkeys in Nebraska. That is a trip that I will never forget. My condolences to the entire Kelly family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

To Jeannette and family,
I am so sad to hear of Bruce's passing. He was such a kind man and so dedicated to our students and to the education process. He was also just a fun person to know. I still display in my office the baseball cap he gave me with "North Dakota" on it; he forgot I was from Nebraska, not North Dakota. We laughed over that one. I'm sure you will share many wonderful memories of Bruce from family and friends and hopefully find comfort there. You are all in my prayers.

We were so sad to hear about Bruce's death. I knew Bruce from my 20 years at DDHS, and enjoyed interacting with him and Al in the math office or the teachers lounge. Bob and I always had a great time at get togethers at the house in the woods.
Our sympathies to Jeanette, his children and grandchildren.

I was lucky enough to have known Bruce and spend some time with him over the last 15 years or so. He was a pleasure to be around and I enjoyed his quest for learning and his love for the outdoors. His love for his family - including his dogs - was very apparent. I feel lucky and thankful to have some great memories of fishing experiences with Bruce - both in a boat and on the ice. And his homemade BBQ sauce is still the best I have ever tasted. Bruce leaves a legacy of a great family. I am blessed to know his wife and 3 kids and 2 grandchildren. They are all wonderful people and truly a reminder of how great a person Bruce was. My deepest sympathy to his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

To Bruce's Dear Family,

Please know we are sending our love and prayers to each of you during this most difficult time. Bruce was and will always be such a special man. He welcomed us into your family simply because we were friends of Scott's, no questions asked, although maybe he should have asked a few. Heehee!

We will treasure the gifts he made and the smiles and stories he shared. We love you all so very much. We are thankful for the love you have for each other; we know how close you are and that is such a blessing.

With love and big, big hugs.....angie, shaughn, allie and emma

We were fortunate to call Bruce a friend for over fifty years. He was a true dear friend and we will miss his calls most spring or summer mornings to give us a bird report, his sharing of all the books he loved, his knowledge of the outdoors and is keen eye for wildlife on rides or walks. We will miss his companionship on our travels, his adventures with cooking and wine making, his Kohls coupons, his woodworking with wood from his property. We will miss sharing grandchildren stories. We will miss being able to talk, laugh and work with our dear dear friend. He enriched our lives.

I have many good memories of Bruce at DDHS, always ready to share a difficult situation or joke. "Mr. Kelly" was a good homeroom teacher for my oldest daughter.

I also think of you Jeanette with our short time at the Steak Ranch, waitressing together. Thinking of your family and the life you are missing.

To Bruce's family,
I am sorry for your loss and you are in our prayers. He fought hard against the disease that eventually took him from us. Bruce was a good man. I know he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. I will always remember the "gentle giant" and his unique laugh. His presence at the campout all these past years was special for all of us. His culinary skills and "breakfast wines" will become legendary and we will surely toast his memory every year to come. I wish I could have learned some of his woodworking skills and secrets, but those too went from us too soon. He was always "one with nature" and now he has returned there forever. He will be missed, but all of us who knew him will remember him and his spirit always. God bless you all in these coming months.
