Edward J. Powroznik age 87 of Twin Lakes, WI died Wednesday evening March 11, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
Edward Joseph Powroznik was born on January 8, 1928 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Joseph and Bernice Drost Powroznik. On February 5, 1955 Edward was united in marriage to Wanda Martyka. She preceded him in death on May 10, 1997. On September 4, 1999 in Bristol, WI, Edward was united in marriage to Pamela Sebastian. Edward moved to Bristol in 1963 and to Twin Lakes 8 years ago.
Edward served as a Seaman in the U.S. Navy from July 25, 1945 until discharge on December 16, 1948. He served aboard the USS Passig and USS Teton. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and a good conduct medal.
Edward owned and operated the Bristol House in Bristol for 46 years. He was also a master machinist and worked at Abbott Labs and Nestles. He was a member of the Kenosha County Tavern League and the Schultz Hahn American Legion Post #293 in Silver Lake, WI. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Twin Lakes.
Edward is survived by: His wife-Pamela; 3 children-Elaine (Neil) Manker of Salem, WI, Susan Gorlinski of Silver Lake, WI and Michael of Salem, WI; 2 step children-Tracy (Jeff) Hansen of Salem, WI and Tony (April) Luttrell of Wheatland, WI; 9 grandchildren; 9 gr. Grandchildren and 2 on the way; 5 sisters-Dolores Seweryn of Crestwood, IL, Gienevive Tazic of Burbank, IL, Joyce (Stanley) Kleszczewski of Chicago, IL, Leona (Charles) Martinek of Burbank, IL and Loretta (Mark) Schuman of Mesa, AZ.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM Saturday March 21, 2015 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Twin Lakes with Fr. Terry Langley officiating. Interment will follow in St. Scholastica Cemetery. The Powroznik Family will receive friends from 4:00PM to 8:00PM Friday March 20, 2015 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc.
