Barb, Jill, Jeff and Jarrett,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I just heard last night 10-27-16 at a dinner with girls from high school. I would of liked to attend his memorial service. It was nice that our dads had each other as company at Geneva Manor. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Ah the memories! Jim water skiing on Lake Owen, Jim introducing us to bear, bison, elk meat, Jim and me hauling a deer out a 40 foot ravine, Jim telling me I'm pregnant before I even knew it, Jim telling us about JFK and watching with us on TV in the North Woods, Jim spending months with us during a difficult time in his life, the two families taking turns traveling between Indiana and Wisconsin so the girls could be together in summer..
He may have been Dick's buddy in the service and before, but he was an integral part of our life. Now he's Dick's buddy in heaven. How marvelous! He was a good man, fair, honest, humble and loyal. Hertha and Rick, and young Hertha

The last boat is in, as the sunset reflects on the water, and the juke box plays one last song - For The Good Times. RIP Sir.

Jim was one of the most influential people in my life. He taught me the value of buck. The value of hard work. The value of a cold beer on a hot day with friends. The value of a good cribbage game. The value of a good bluegill hole. The value of loyalty and love. The unconditional value of friendship and family, which I had the pleasure of being a part of, AND seeing in action with others very special to me. RIP James. I will miss you. You will forever be one of my favorites!

Jim was my first "boss". He taught me valuable life lessons working at Jim's Boats from almost age 13 years young through age 19. He was always challenging me, praising me and showed me that being responsible comes leads to promotion, respect and more challenging experiences. More than words could say, Jim was one my greatest mentors and a committed friend.
