Lila Lee (Bauer) Nafziger

Lila Lee Nafziger: 91, of Glendale AZ. formerly of Elkhorn, WI passed away peacefully, December 12, 2017.  She was born March 19, 1926 in Lincoln, IL.  She was the daughter of the late William and Lillian Bauer.  She was united in marriage to Benedict C. Nafziger on February 23, 1947.  They moved to Wisconsin in 1959 and purchased a farm on Loveland Road; they sold and retired to Glendale, Arizona in 1985.  Prior to retirement and moving to Arizona Lila was employed by Dr. James W. Beattie of Lake Geneva, WI.  Both she and Ben were active in the Walworth County 4-H program serving as Spring Prairie 4-H leaders for over 25 years.  She was a member of the Lake Geneva Business and Professional Women’s Association and a member of American Association of Medical Assistants.  After moving to Arizona, both Ben and Lila were active in the Sunburst Farms Homeowners Association and Christ Community Church of Glendale, AZ. Her lifetime partner Ben, passed away on November 10, 1991.  Lila became active in Glendale Bellair Lions Club and the Red Hat Society.  She is survived by her daughter: Rebecca (Ernest) Merwin of Lake Geneva, WI and her son: William (Lynda) Nafziger of Glendale, AZ, granddaughter, Sarah (Keith) Sisco of Casa Grande, AZ, and grandson: James (Liz) Merwin of Bayside, WI. Two great-grandchildren: Bennett and Margo Merwin, her sister, Norma (Richard) Bell of Pekin, IL.  Lila was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ben, and grandson George W. Merwin.  Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday December 16, 2017 at Haase-Lockwood Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin Street Elkhorn, WI with Dr. John C. Helt officiating.  Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery in the Town of Spring Prairie, WI.  Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Lila’s name to Walworth County Fair Foundation PO Box 286 Elkhorn, WI 53121.   On-line guestbook is at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
