Pelagia “Peggy” Buranicz, age 92 , of Pell Lake, WI, died Friday evening June 24, 2016 at Burr Oak Manor in Genoa City, WI.
The former Pelagia Czyrnianska was born on March 17, 1924 in Poland, the daughter of the late Joachim and Teodora Czyrnianska. In November of 1948 in Poland, Pelagia was united in marriage to Lukasz Buranicz. Lukasz preceded her in death on March 18, 2005.
Pelagia lived in Poland until migrating to the United States in 1963. She lived in Chicago, IL until moving to Pell Lake in 1982. She was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pell Lake and then St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Richmond, IL. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening was her passion.
Pelagia is survived by: 2 daughter’s-Olga Buranicz of Pell Lake, WI and Lu Bomira Raska of Monument, CO; 2 granddaughters-Larya (Christophe) Masiero and Roxana (Austin) Schwermer; 1 sister Rose in Poland and a brother-John in Poland.
Pelagia was preceded in death by 5 siblings in Poland.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Monday June 27, 2016 at Bloomfield Cemetery. The Buranicz family will receive friends from 12:30PM until 1:45PM Monday at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home in Genoa City. For online guestbook: haaselockwoodfhs.com.
