Deep condolences to Jim and Mary Kay and Dan and to all the extended Battistoni/Schmidt clan. Our families were so close that I grew up feeling that we were all brothers and sisters. My dear Godmother Rita was only about 18 years old when my Mother and Dad chose her to be my Godmother. She was close to me all my life and always interested in what was important to me at various stages in my life. I shared so much with her. I will miss her very much, and my memories will always hold her close in my heart. Thank you especially to Paul and Susan for sharing the documentary of all our lives together. She will be missed by all and know her light is still shining brightly.

To Rita's Family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Rita lived down the road from where I grew up. She was always very kind to me and all of the children she served lunch to. I would always greet her with "Hi Rita!" and she would say back "Hi Reet!". She always made my day happier with that big smile. What a beautiful and full life she lived. Rita touched many lives. May God be with you all during this time of sorrow.

Remember her as such a fireball of enthusiasm with a smile and bright eyed. Always energetic and full of life. What a full life of 100 years - what a great run. Something tells me she was still the fun one at her residency. To Jim and family, sorry for your loss - surely a treasure trove of great memories for you to hold onto.

I met Rita, because I went to school in Salem with Paul. She was a kind person, what a wonderful interesting life she had. GOD BLESS her and all of her family.
