We just heard of Ted's passing and want to pay our respects to him and his family. We all loved Ted and enjoyed his company immensely. He was a childhood friend of our mother and it was wonderful that they reconnected and shared so many great times in their later years. Ted was always so kind and considerate to everyone. He brightened our lives.

Rest in Peace Ted

Ted was a prince of a guy. Some of my favorite childhood memories: Twin Lakes on the 4th of July and parties with the Schalls' gang! Good friends, good times.

I was so sorry to hear that your dad passed away. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. I'll never forget all the happy memories we had as kids basically growing up at the lakes. He was always someone special and the one true Rock on the Pointe!
Love to you all. Pat

James and I really enjoyed our 74th reunions with Ted. They all had some good stories to tell.

I have so many wonderful memories of the 74th Engineers reunions. Ted and my dad were army buddies and told some great stories of their time in Alaska. Ted had a great sense of humor and could tell a joke. And he loved his family! Ninety-five years young! How lucky he was to have loved you all and how lucky you all were to have had him in your lives all these years. May God bless you all and, Ted, thank you for all your stories and sharing your time with us at the reunions. I will miss you.

Dear Uncle Ted, our most handsome and fun uncle, you left us so many good memories...

I remember all the Loster men sitting around the kitchen table, smoking cigars as we little kids slithered behind your chairs in terror, hoping we wouldn't be grabbed up and tickled on our way to the back door. Your shy goddaughter, Marybeth, managed to get caught every time. You knew she secretly loved it.

There was always a special cocktail for the grownups--manhattans, old-fashioneds--and especially the Year of the Daiquiri. I can still hear that blender whirring. "C'mon, Nat, you and your loopy sister can have one more!"

I still see you in a white teeshirt, dark suntan and shiny black hair, piloting us out of the channel in the little motor boat. Felt like the Queen Mary to us. Many (more than 40!) years later I brought Carole to swim at the beach, along with our dog to keep you company. I'll never forget returning to find you in the recliner, cocktail in hand, snack and Bentley balanced on your belly. Only you could be totally content sharing a plate of cheese and crackers with a ShihTzu.

After 95 years of joys and sorrows, you'll not only be remembered as a great uncle, but a war hero, loving husband and most excellent father to six kids. (As we'd say in Santa Fe, "Eeee! He must have been a hero to raise that bonche!") Take care, cousins, you're in our thoughts and prayers tonight.

Uncle Ted, thank you so much for all of the wonderful memories. I used to love seeing you up at Twin Lakes in the summer. My favorite memory of you is the time you were able to scare me with the singing fish! I always laugh whenever I see a "Big Mouth Billy" now! Much love to you and your family.

I have missed Ted's (and Joe's) visits with us! Ted always made me smile. What a pleasure it was to spend time with someone who had such a positive outlook on life.
I am proud to say he was my friend. I will be sure to use my 'Ted Loster pickle recipe' and think of him when ever I have a pickle!
